So... What Do You Want To Do?

Monday 30 June 2008 we woke up in Málaga late after a night of insanity. Then around 12:20 we took the bus to the center. I had never done that before so it was good to do so and figure things out a bit. We found a tourist office and got info for the day. Then we went and visited the cathedral, which I thought I had never done. Then it turns out that I had, but didn't remember it very well. Then we shopped around, I was looking for a Málaga keychain for Victor's Málaga keys. He has a habit of loosing keys. Hopefully with some new keychains they will help him keep track of them. Or at least feel worse about loosing them. I also just love souvenier stores. Then we went to the hosue where Pablo Picasso was born, which was free for students. Then we backtracked and did some more souvenir shopping and then we went real shopping. Mostly Brenda did the shopping since I didn't want to look so I wouldn't find anything and spend money. Then we rested and got granizados de limón, which is like a lemonade slushie. It was really good and we just sat on a bench a long time resting. Then we went and walked around some more, shouvenir shopping and exploring. Then we sat on a bench again and waited for Victor to come and pick us up. We watched a mime get ready and saw a ton of preteen malaguenos all dressed up and hanging out, basicallly overtaking our bench. Then Adrian called me to tell me that the girls had officially moved out, took the shower curtain and mat and that Rosa had literally stolen the big bed, under the pretense that Magdalena had given it to her. (sure) At that moment, Victor got there and we went to the bus station so Brenda could buy her tickets to Sevilla the next day. Then we went and drove to the beach and walked around La Malagueta. We walked down the beach and ran into Ignacio, Victor's co-worker who I have heard a ton about and even talked to on the phone but never met. Then we walked back and ate dinner at a nice beachfront resturant. We had yummy create-your-own-salads. Then we walked back to the car and went home. There we watched tv and bit and went to bed.

Tuesday morning I woke up to help Brenda with the hot water heater, but she had already showered. Then she was all ready and went downstairs and I called a taxi for her. Unfortunately right at 10 when I called the taxi strike started. Perfect. I had no idea what to do, called Victor and the only other way was to take the bus, which the day before took us about 40 minutes to get into the center. Brenda couldn't remember where the bus stop was so I got dressed and went with her to find it. Unfortunately, as we were leaving the appartment, I saw the bus coming towards us, but we were between stops. I ran to try to stop it, but it was was too late. Brenda didn't feel like running. Then we waited 15 more minutes for the next bus. By now it was 10:30 and her bus was leaving in 30 minutes. I didn't know what she was going to do but I was all stressed out. So I sent her on the bus and went back upstairs and used the intenet where I got an email from Alicia explaining she was stuck in Cuba and basically had to work all the days we had planned for vacation. I also didn't know what to do about that. I called Magdalena who said it was ok for me to stay with her, it was just a bummer because she was going to be working all the time. At least I don't have to get a hotel. Then I went to Mercadona and got food for lunch and dinner. Then I came home and went swimming and hung out at the pool for a while. It became parents and kiddies time again so I went up early and started making lunch. I had bought stuff to have french fries, a salad, yummy marinated meat and bread. It was really good and we had really good conversation over lunch about what the heck is going on with us. We didn't really arrive at any conclusions, but it was good to talk. Then Victor had to go back to work and I was a little bored. I don't know what I did all afternoon but it went by really fast. Very similar to the morning where I did nothing but it was gone in a flash. So I watched tv for a while, which was still all about winning the EuroCup (and it still is.) Then I took a nap and then went and sent a fax for Brenda so her stupid UPS package would get here. Then I took a shower and used the internet for a bit, but ended up talking to my mom. Then it was already 7 and Victor got home! Then we went out shopping for the first day of the Summer Sales!!! We went straight to H&M and went nuts. Me of course more than Victor. It was awesome because I found birthday presents for Michelle and a brand new suit for myself! I have always wanted a pin strip suit for interviews and stuff, which now I will have to do, if I want a job. So I got the whole thing for 50% off. I spent 57 bucks all together, 15 on Michelle and 40 on the pants, jacket and blouse. I'm pretty excited. Its grey and I bought a baby blue blouse to go with it. Then we went and had a drink and a tapa upstairs in the foor court area and went and picked up Brenda at 10. She had missed her bus but thankfully they refunded her ticket and she ended up leaving at 1 and coming back at 7:30. A short trip for a 2.5 hour trip each way. But she said she had a good time. Then we went and drove to the Parador and looked around and then to the castle. It was a really nice evening, then we went home. We ate cereal for dinner and watched tv and went to bed.

Wednesday we slept in and woke up late. Then we got ready and Brenda took a shower. Somehow she ended up flooding the hallway all the way into Jesus' room and under his bed where he kept some extra matresses. Then we had to clean that up. I took out the trash and straightened up the house. Then we left at 12:40, got to the bus station around 1:30 and got tickets for a bus at 2. I looked one last time for a keychain in the Málaga bus station and strangely enough found the perfect one! I had looked all over the city and only found ugly ones, but finally found a cool one in the ugliest of stores! It was awesome and I´m really excited. Then we got on the bus and left. But because of the horrible traffic, it took us over 30 minutes to get out of Málaga. I started writing a blog on the way home, since I had the laptop and we got back to Granada around 4. Then the bus home. Then we came home to see our gutted house. I went through thier rooms and found a few interesting things like loose change and the like, (I know I'm a scavenger...) Among some of the interesting things I found was a scrap of a tampon wrapper. Strangely it was the same kind I use, which I brought with me from California. I don't know how they knew where I keep mine or how long Rosa had been stealing them from me, but its clear that I should have been the one to put a lock on my door. Then Brenda and I went to have lunch/dinner at a schwarma place. It was ok. Then we went and walked around Realejo, Campo de Príncipe and my old school the CLM. Then we went to the grocery store, stopped by home and went to the post office, which was closed. Then we came back home and have been resting since 8:00. Adiran came home and re-told me the whole bed stealing scandal. We also discovered that the pile of dishes in the sink weren't ours but left for us by the girls. Thankfully Zore wrote me a really sweet goodbye note, but apparently Rosa is just a terrible person. We have been watchign tv, blogging and I went and visited Pepa for a bit. Now were are going to go to a concert at Mae West. I guess I'll post this blog since I'm all caught up now, even though I was planning on saving it for the rest of the week. Enjoy!
